Abraham L. Wickelgren is the Fred and Emily Wulff Chair at the University of Texas Law School. He has both a law degree and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard. Prior to Texas, he was at Northwestern University Law School. He has also been a visiting professor at Yale and Duke Law Schools and was a staff economist at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Professor Wickelgren has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed economics journals and law and economics journals. He is currently a co-editor of the Journal of Law, Economics, & Organization and was formerly the co-editor of the American Law and Economics Review. He has also been an associate editor at the Journal of Industrial Economics and the International Review of Law and Economics, and he has served as a member of the board of directors of the American Law and Economics Association. His research focuses on economic analysis of antitrust, contracts, and the settlement of legal disputes.
Professor Wickelgren has served as an expert in several antitrust matters including for the class plaintiffs in Deselms, et al. v. Occidental Petroleum, for the unsecured creditor’s committee in In re: MALLINCKRODT PLC, et al., and for the State of Texas in the Apple e-books investigation and the expert for the States defending the settlement with the publishers in that case. Dr. Wickelgren has testified at deposition and trial.
